Can anyone really "Own" the Earth?
We don’t think so, but we also understand that this is the 21st century where sadly it seems as if everything is for sale. Here on Kauai, people from around the world are coming in mass to buy up whatever they can. Since we as individuals seem unable to stop this international influx of population growth, we must do everything we can in order to minimize the impact, or footprint of any and all development that is to occur.
Here’s How
There are countries around the world such as Sweden, Switzerland, and Iceland to name a few where the people and their government representatives have both realized that the Earth is quickly being depleted of all of its natural resources. Some of these places realized this more than 20 years ago and began then to do something about it. We need to learn from these advanced nations and implement their successful strategies here at home.
Promote Responsible Building Practices
When planning a building project we encourage the owner to build as Green as possible. This means implementing things such as: Using solar & wind power to generate electricity. Using sustainably harvested lumber as well as other alternative, local building materials (sometimes recycled), using non-toxic paints & stains, having a natural water catchment system, plant an organic no pesticide natural garden… etc.
